When I was young and growing up we would harvest live oysters and boil and fry them up. It was one of my fondest memories from my childhood. Hey I have got a Gulf oysters joke for you:
There is this oyster and he is out fishing in the lake, he runs out of bait but he sees a big fish lurking in the water. He reaches inside himself and pulls out a shiny pearl. He baits his hook and casts his line. The fish jumps in the boat. The oyster says “What made you do that?”. The fish replies “I thought you were throwing in a white flag and giving up your boat”.
