I spent a large amount of my college years pursuing an industrial engineering degree at Arizona State University. The problem I experienced is that I never got any actual industrial engineering work experience and did not figure out until my senior year at Arizona State University that industrial engineering was not for me. One thing I really like about the Kettering University that sets it apart from different Universities is their engineering co-op programs.
This engineering co-op program gives freshman students the opportunity to work at an engineering job and get practical experience as a freshman. Every three months the freshman rotates between school and their co-op engineering job. US News and World Report recently ranked Kettering University as “the #1 University in the nation for Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering”. This was in the in US News and World Report annual “America’s Best Colleges Guide for 2008″. If you are an engineering student looking for practical work experience or if you are not sure if engineering is right for you then please visit the Kettering University website and find out more information about their degree programs and co-op work programs for freshman engineering students.
