I went back to Big Lake for some rainbow trout fishing. I used several types of power bait along with a KastMaster and trolling. The fishing was amazing with fifteen inches coming in on average. It was a little windy but we had a ton of fun. Make sure to visit Big Lake soon.

Lake Havasu is worth the drive

Lake Havasu is worth the drive. It takes me about 4 hours to get to Lake Havasu. I am greeted by water about seventy five degrees. The fish are biting and the stripers are spawning. Jerk baits and anchovies brought in the best results for stripers. There are some large catfish to be had as well. I did not have much luck with bass but Tube Baits seemed to work better than anything else. Check it out.

I recently went fishing at Lake Carnero.  The lake was very weedy.  I was able to catch a few fifteen ounch trout.  Spinners and Spoons worked best.  Only artificial lures and flys on barbless hooks can be used.  There is a two trout limit so I threw many back.  Without a boat ramp it is difficult to launch and only electric trolling motors may be used.  Check it out if you do not mind the weeds.
