I did some nice fishing at Alvord Lake. Alvord Lake is in Caesar Chavez park. I was able to catch 3 large mouth bass. I used a grub spinner bait and worms. I also caught several bluegills. The boat dock did not yield much but more secluded areas had the most luck.

Green Valley Lake is one of my favorite places to fish. It is beautiful and peaceful. I caught 2 rainbow trout using worms from the short. One was about 3 pounds and 20 inches. I also caught several bluegills with worms under a bobber. I did see a few catfish but was unable to catch any. It was a beautiful day.

I did a little fishing at Lake Meade. I used anchovies as my main bait. Starting at the South Cove I was able to catch about 20 fish. Most were about 3 pounds. I practiced catch and release. The bite was on the best in about 30 feet of watter. Check out Lake Meade if you have not recently fished there.

I visited Lake Pleasant again. Using a hot dog as bait I was able to catch a 4 pound channel catfish. I was also able to catch 10 stripers using anchovies and worms as bait. Most of the stripers were in the 2 pound to 5 pound range. The best time to fish is the early morning. I focused on the cove near the boat launch.

Mixed results at Apache Lake

I recently visited Apache Lake. I had mixed results there. For most of the day I was only able to catch minnows using live worms and crankbaits. I was able to catch only one trout in the early morning. Moving to the other side of the lake I caught a few trout using power eggs. I also landed a 7 lb yellow bass. I saw a few catfish as well.
