Sunday, November 2nd, 2008

Well we have passed the fall catfish stocking season. I am a little sad to see these guys go. They are a lot of fun and I regularly enjoy fishing for them. But now I am excited for the winter trout stocking season which will start this month. There are some great fishing times ahead.

I recently went fishing at Bear Canyon Lake

Wednesday, October 8th, 2008

I recently went fishing at Bear Canyon Lake. It was a lot of fun. I did some fly fishing in the morning and again in the afternoon. The fish did not seem to like the wind. When it was calm I was able to catch some rainbow trout up to 15 inches. The lake was in pretty good shape. For a great spot try going out into the north side into a canoe.

Fishing at Lake Powell

Tuesday, October 7th, 2008

Fishing at Lake Powell has been good. I have been using spoons near splash rings. Fishing in about 20 to 40 feet works the best. Fishing in the evening is the best although mornings are okay. Bass fishing is good. Check it out.

Apache Lake is ninety percent full

Tuesday, October 7th, 2008

Apache Lake is ninety percent full. Apache Lake is a great place to fish for catfish and even carp. To catch carp I would recommend using corn. I have also heard of walleye and yellow bass. I fished using lures for bass and sunfish. Try to stay in areas with coverage or rocks.

Lake Pleasant is about seventy five percent full

Tuesday, October 7th, 2008

Lake Pleasant is about seventy five percent full. Shad have been seen in large numbers and largemouth bass are plentiful. Striper fishing is still hot. Fishing on the full moon is still good. I recently caught some 5 pound stripers. Anchovies still work best and fishing around 30 feet deep yielded the best results.

Fishing at Desert Breeze

I caught some large mouth bass at Desert Breeze recently. From a boat in the middle of the lake would yield the best results. I quickly caught 2 bass using worms and minnows. The largest bass I hauled in was about 12 inches.

I am really excited because catfish are being stocked again very soon

Friday, September 12th, 2008

I am really excited because catfish are being stocked again very soon. The week of September 15, 2008 should bring in about thirteen thousand pounds of catfish. They are coming from Arkansas and will be stocked in all of the Urban Lakes in Arizona including Veterans Oasis. This is a new urban lake in Chandler.
